The Christmas That Was Left
It seems that this year has brought more PC people out of the closet to protest anything and everything Christmas. Nativity scenes, the birth of Christ, Christmas carols, and trying to squelch the people from expressing the phrase “Merry Christmas” to one another. However, I’m not at all surprised. I find a little deep-seated humor in all this. When this crowd from the left attacks the Christmas season and spirit, and feel victorious, they seem to celebrate as if something grand has taken place. In a sense, it has, but, nothing has been accomplished.
You see, last year we witnessed Hillary Clinton, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and various other panhandlers exclaiming that we were celebrating the “birth of a homeless child”, that being Jesus. And I wrote an editorial about that, which you may read after you finish this article. As everyone knows, Jesus was not homeless at all, and their PC slant of the story did nothing to change the facts about the true meaning of Christmas.
Thankfully, these political poachers think that they are winning a war, by doing battle against all that is right with America, when in all actuality, they are only drawing attention to their selfishness and ignorance. So what if they band together and have nativity scenes banned from public places? Big deal. Does that diminish the fact that we will still celebrate the birthday of Christ? Does that make December 25th. any less legitimate? Of course, it doesn’t. So what if they band together and have Christmas carols taken from the public square, in downtown USA. Does that diminish the fact that we still celebrate a risen Christ? Does that diminish the fact that those of us who believe as we do, will still hold to our faith? Not.
I am as annoyed and dismayed as the rest of you regarding all this PC garbage. But yet, I will not let it get me down. I will continue to fight it and stand against it. These PC goons may be able to have celebratory events regarding Christmas partially banned, but that does not change the fact of what Christmas is, and it never will. They do not understand that Christmas is about love, a love of Christ, a love of fellow man, and a love of our country, and our freedoms. They cannot understand this because they are clueless about this type of love. I pity them and their misery. I miss the Christmas scenes around the courthouse square, but when you get down to it, we can experience and celebrate Christmas any time we desire. The main thing that the PC cannot come against, and in our hearts. Nothing they can say or do can change what is in the depths of the heart. After all, this is where Jesus resides, as we celebrate His birth.
So, as you witness more and more of the Politically Correct in the days that follow, remind yourself that regardless of their claimed victories, the winner is still the heart. And most of all, pray for your enemies, as hard as that is to do. I know about that…I seriously do. I will close by sharing with you, something that my late Grandmother would say to me from time to time when I was a much younger and restless man: “I’m praying for you and there’s nothing you can do about it.” And you can do the same, deep down in your heart!
Here’s wishing all of you a most blessed Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
