Screw the Pain – Feel the Rage
I’ve tried to be rational throughout this whole ordeal we’ve found ourselves in, but it’s more than I can muster. After all, the unemployment rate in our county is at least 13% with a bullet. Just a couple of days ago, Pillowtex announced a massive layout, thanks to this not-so-sound economy. And then today, I read the President met with Jesses Jackson. Gee who’s next, Larry Flynt and Jerry Springer?
If our President would “dance with the ones that brought him”, he may have a chance for re-election. However, catering to those already hostile towards him by throwing billions of dollars in aid at them, will not secure their votes either. They won’t even say thank you.
Let’s look at the big picture. All these billions of dollars in aid to Africa, for one. How about the poor old USA? How about the unemployed? Just a few days ago, President Bush stated that the textile workers who have lost their jobs, need to be trained in the technical areas. True, but wouldn’t that make them a higher degree of unemployment? The tech jobs are being outsourced overseas, so what good would that do? Is there more pride in being an unemployed techie than an unemployed textile worker?
How many more groups of people will the President embrace, as he turns his back on the ones who barely got him elected in 2000? He’s been openly courting the gay community, the disenfranchised Black voters, and the Hispanics, and trying to be all things to all people. What’s next? Appeasing the French? Also caught in this web are the Saudi people, who have been bosom buddies for years unknown, yet, they are still treated like family. One good thing I can say about the French…at least they will say up front they detest us, while the Saudis claim to be our friends.
I’m so sick of the Bush bots crying foul when someone on the right complains about his dereliction of duties. I know that when Bill Clinton was President, he did things that pale when compared to Bush, and we all jumped all over him, but just because Bush has that big “R” beside his name, he is still God. I don’t think so. He’s an “S” in “R” clothing. You figure that one out.
I’m still trying to figure out if the actions of this President are deliberate or out of incompetence. I’m truly dumbfounded. I keep hearing about his “stratergery” and how he’s just outfoxing the rest, and when he’s re-elected next year, then, the Republicans will show they are true conservatives. Oh really? Does this mean we get all new Representatives and Senators because the bunch there now have no backbone, spine, guts, and no shame? When has the President vetoed anything? When has he stood and fought for judicial nominees? When has he stood and vigorously argued against the Democrats on certain bills, that he eventually caved to, in the name of bi-partisan politics? Give me a break…a conservative he ain’t!
Ask Mr. Sharon, of Israel, how conservative President Bush is. He sends messages to the Palestinian leadership that they will have a land in time, and they will have this and that, on this grand road map to peace. Here’s my take on this mess. As I’ve stated earlier, he’s catered to every group of people except the ones who matter. What matters is how we, as a nation, treat the people of Israel. The land is theirs, pure and simple. It was given to them by God…not loaned to them until they could be rescued by the current savior Bush. I’m afraid we are nearing the end. How can this nation keep on the path it’s currently destined for and not break down as a whole? I don’t care whether you are religious or not, or whether you believe it or not, but if God said it, you can take it to the bank. Your unbelief does not render God’s word void!
Yes, I would hope that the conservatives could win in 2004, but the sad thing is, there are no such critters in the political neighborhood. If the President’s numbers fall below 50%, watch what happens. I honestly think many people are fed up with the current policies being enacted today. They do not pass the smell test. They have the odor of socialism, rather than conservatism. I expect to get flamed by those who worship Bush, but so be it. Yes, I voted for him the first time, but he needs to do the job he was sent to do. We still have open borders. We still have huge numbers filtering in from Mexico taking jobs here in our country, while not having to pay taxes for 5 years or so, while our people stand in the unemployment lines, begging for what is rightfully theirs. Yeah, that NAFTA sure was a wonderful thing, huh? The unemployment rate is still tremendously high, yet, many want to pass the blame onto someone else. Yes, the financial decline was in the makings when President Bush took office, but he sure hasn’t helped things any.
On the local level, we have had nothing done by our distinguished Senators Dole and Edwards, the Queen and King of the regular people. Ms. Dole said that she would check into this “Pillowtex” thing. Check into it…how pathetically funny…at this point, all she can do is say goodbye to it. It’s politics as usual, and honestly, if I didn’t know who was in the Whitehouse, I would be hard-pressed to be led to believe that it was a conservative. I am disgusted, disgruntled, and damned near becoming disenfranchised myself, except I’m not allowed to picket and threaten to incite violence. Working people don’t have the time for that.
I could give a rat’s butt if this administration “feels my pain”…I don’t have any pain to feel….. but come November 2004, there’s a huge possibility they will feel my wrath and rage, and I will not be the lone voice this time!
